Adult Undergraduate and Graduate Student Timeline
Commencement Participation PolicyAdult undergraduate students may participate in commencement if all degree requirements are completed or will be completed at the end of the spring semester, including the cross cultural experience.
Graduate students may participate in commencement if all degree requirements are completed or will be completed at the end of the spring semester.
When all other requirements have been met, a student may participate in commencement if no more than 6 credits remain uncompleted beyond the current spring semester.
Ed.D. and Ph.D students are allowed only the following requirements uncompleted beyond the spring semester:
- EDUC9500 - Professional and Ethical Leadership
- The final, approved written dissertation. The dissertation must have been successfully defended, but final edits may remain outstanding.
- Submission of the final, approved, written dissertation to the approved accreditation and assessment software and the NNU's Library UMI dissertation database.
LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR GRADUATION is Friday, March 23, 2018.
Clearance for Participation
Adult Undergraduate and Graduate students will be cleared for participation through the Registrar's Office. Letters of participation will be sent to students by the Registrar. The last day to clear for participation is Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
Picking Up Regalia
Each Adult Undergraduate and Graduate department will have the regalia for their graduate students available in the respective graduate office for distribution. Check with your program administrator for regalia pickup days and times. If you are not able to pick up your regalia prior to graduation, it will be available on May 5th at the Johnson Sports Center Field House by 3 p.m., prior to the Commencement ceremony.
You may keep your regalia, cap, tassel and honor cords.

Line-up at 3:15 p.m. in the field house (across the hall from the gymnasium). Wear cap, gown, hood and honor cord.
Live streaming will be available for those that are not able to attend.
