APP and Graduate Student Timeline

Commencement Participation Policy

APP students may participate in commencement if all degree requirements are completed or will be completed at the end of the spring semester, including the cross cultural experience.  

Graduate students may participate in commencement if all degree requirements are completed or will be completed at the end of the spring semester.

Exceptions

When all other requirements have been met, a student may participate in commencement if no more than 6 credits remain uncompleted beyond the current spring semester.

Ed.D. and Ph.D students are allowed only the following requirements uncompleted beyond the spring semester:

  • EDUC9500 - Professional and Ethical Leadership
  • The final, approved written dissertation.  The dissertation must have been successfully defended, but final edits may remain outstanding.
  • Submission of the final, approved, written dissertation to TK20 and the NNU Library's UMI dissertation database.

LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR GRADUATION is Friday, March 31, 2017.

Clearance for Participation

APP and Graduate students will be cleared for participation through the Registrar's Office. Letters of participation will be sent to students by the Registrar. The last day to clear for participation is Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

Picking Up Regalia

Each APP and Graduate department will have the regalia for their graduate students available in the respective graduate office for distribution. Check with your program administrator for regalia pickup days and times. If you are not able to pick up your regalia prior to graduation, it will be available on May 6th at the Johnson Sports Center Gymnasium by 3 p.m., prior to the Commencement ceremony.

You may keep your cap, tassel and honor cords.

Final regalia pick up at the Johnson Sports Center Gymnasium

Saturday, May 6, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Johnson Sports Center Gymnasium
Line-up at 3:15 p.m. in the field house (across the hall from the gymnasium).  Wear caps, gowns, hoods and honor cords.  Robes and hoods will be returned to the field house. You may keep your cap, tassel and honor cords. 

Live streaming will be available for those that are not able to attend.
